Scaramouchine and the Temples of Consumption

Day two in Hong Kong and Scaramouchine hit the malls. Scaramouchine is always awestruck by the sheer availability of product in Hong Kong. Everything you want all in one compact area. The whole time she is shopping the Clash song “Hateful” runs through her head: “Anything I want, he gives it to me, anything I want, he gives it but not for free. . . . ”

You can have anything you want in Hong Kong, for a price. What a price! What a selection! And what lovely air-conditioned palaces to spend you day in when the monsoon weather hits.

Harbour City is HUGE! And has it all, Chanel, Gucci, Hermes, Parksons . . . .but on Friday night and Saturday afternoon the crowds are horrific!
